Williamson Animal Services, Inc. is a not for profit 501 (c) 3 charitable organization that was founded in 2011. The organization was formed after the completion of the Williamson County Task Force on Animal Control in order to continue the advancement and improvement of the welfare of animals throughout the county.
Williamson County is recognized as a progressive community where animals are valued and live in harmony with humans. This is achieved through the enlightened support and responsiveness of both its citizens and its government. The Animal Control program is best-in-class and known throughout the state and the nation as a model for its low euthanasia rate, proactive programs and high quality of staff and animal care.
Williamson Animal Services, Inc.’s (WAS) mission is to promote and support quality of life for all animals and the humans who care about them by ensuring a compassionate environment and humane treatment for the animals of Williamson County.
WAS’ mission focuses on three general areas:
1) to provide support to Williamson County Animal Control & Adoption Center
2) to increase community awareness regarding animal welfare
3) to support public policy that provides compassionate treatment of animals.
Supporting Williamson County Animal Control & Adoption Center through initiatives that will lead to a reduction in the euthanasia rate to best-in-class level
Increasing Education and Community Outreach
Supporting public policy that provides Humane Treatment of Domestic Animals through non-Lobbying Efforts
Generating Additional Funding for Williamson County Animal Control & Adoption Center
